Psalm 15 (ESV)
1 O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
Who shall dwell on your holy hill?
2 He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
3 who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
but who honors those who fear the Lord;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
5 who does not put out his money at interest
and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved.
REFLECTION:
- David presented a question: Who can come before God? It’s those who “walk straight, act right, tell the truth” (v2).
- David described the life that lives in the presence of God; who walks in close fellowship with God because the heart, the mind, and the life are all in step with the heart, mind, and life of God.
- Read over the psalm and use it as a good checklist against which to measure yourself. Any reminder? Any areas that need correction?
- Celebrate with the last verse: “He who does these things shall never be moved”. Thank God for such a promise! And ask God to help you “walk” closely with Him.
PRAYER:
Stay with God for a little longer. Continue to converse with God and listen to what He wants to tell you. Then write down any thought and/or prayer in your spiritual journal.
