Chapter 62
1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
3 How long will you assault me?
Would all of you throw me down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4 Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.
5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Meditation
1. Silence – Read/Listen – Meditate – Pray – Contemplate
2. What is the word or phrase that touches you today as you read and
meditate on this passage? What is your emotion as you read this
word or phrase? How is that related to your current situation? What
does God tell you to do?
3. In this psalm, David describes God as a rock. Find sometime today
to be outdoors. Find a few rocks and look at them. Reflect on
the characteristics of rocks and how they describe God’s character.
Write down your reflections.
4. Thank God that he is like a rock. Thank God for what each of the
aspects of his character means to you. Find a small stone and carry
it with you today. Every time your hand touches it, reflect on the
fact that God is your rock.
Prayer & Journaling:
Stay with God for a little longer. Continue to converse with God and listen
to what he wants to tell me. Then write down any thought and/or prayer
in the 2012 “Spiritual Journal” book.
