3 壓傷的蘆葦，他不折斷；將熄滅的燈火，他不吹滅；他忠實地傳出公理。4 他不灰心，也不沮喪，直到他在地上設立公理，眾海島的人都等候他的教訓。
5 那創造諸天，展開穹蒼，鋪張大地和大地所出的一切，賜氣息給地上的眾人，又賜靈性給在地上行的人的耶和華 神這樣說：
1 “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations.
2 He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.
3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4 he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.
In his teaching the islands will put their hope.”
5 This is what God the LORD says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out,
who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it,
who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it:
6 “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,
7 to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
Read slowly and gently through the passage. Savor each portion of the reading, listening to the “still, small voice” of a word or phrase that somehow says, “I am for you today.”
TAKE in the word or phrase that touches you. Memorize it and slowly repeat it to yourself, allowing it to interact with your inner world of concerns, memories and ideas.
SPEAK to God. Interact with God as you would with one who loves and accepts you. And give to Him what you have discovered in reading and reflection.
REST in God. Rejoicing in the knowledge that God is with you in both words and silence, in spiritual activity and inner receptivity.
